Miami startup INDIRA, a personalized fashion and décor brand for the discerning bride, launched Tuesday at www.indiracollection.com. Created by Ajay and Carrie Mantha, a husband and wife team pictured above, INDIRA said its interactive, step-by-step online atelier brings to life each bride’s vision of her wedding day by creating chic silk bridesmaid dresses with coordinating accessories, gemstone jewelry and wedding décor (No wedding day should ever involve polyester, Carrie Mantha says). INDIRA's designs are made in the USA -- in fact some production is done in its factory in Little Haiti. The Manthas moved their company from New York to Miami earlier this year.
The INDIRA team also won 3rd place in the NewME PopUp Accelerator's DemoDay and pitched at the Emerging Technology Business Showcase last month. It was accepted this week into Launch Pad Tech's Community Program. Carrie Mantha said INDIRA recently closed a funding round of $430,000 and has raised $1.2 million in total. The company may do another round in the first or second quarter of next year, she said.
