The ITWomen Charitable Foundation has awarded a total of $72,000 in college scholarships to 9 young South Florida women pursuing degrees in engineering and information technology.
The high school seniors selected from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties will be pursuing a range of STEM careers in technology and engineering, including Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil and Environmental Engineering in addition to Computer Science and Robotics.
The winning scholarship applicants were awarded $8,000 in four-year renewable scholarships of $2,000 per year. Each student also received an HP laptop donated by Electronic Systems Inc. and other products.
The ITWomen Charitable Foundation scholarship program supports ITWomen's mission to increase the ranks of women in the STEM disciplines of Technology and Engineering. The ITWomen Foundation presented its scholarships at the George Snow Scholarship Fund 2014 Awards Reception on June 5 at the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club in Boca Raton.
