Willie Avendano and Jennifer Victor started  artistin.us, a digital arts collective with a mission to develop projects at the intersection of art, technology and social good and promote the ideas that any person can be an artist and creator.

The team behind Artistin.us is equal parts hacker and equal parts artist, the team says. Its current Kickstarter project, (in)vision, is Internet-vision on a 15ft x 15ft LED tapestry, a collective and interactive visual-art amalgamation that aims to break the traditional art archetypes for creators. "By parsing the Internet,  we plan to create a platform of user-generated art that will allow individuals to see and feel what the Internet they interact with is in physical form. Installation can be constructed as LED grid tapestries using segments of LED lights, all powered by open source technologies... It operates on the thinking that everyone is a consumer and creator on the Internet, and thus as well, an artist," said Avendano. "Through greater access to the Internet, anything can be made possible."

Artistin.us is trying to raise $15,000 to build out a 15 ft x 15 ft LED construct to debut at the Interactive Art Fair during Art Basel 2013.

Here is the link to their Kickstarter campaign, but hurry as the campaign ends at 1:46 p.m. Oct. 24. As with all Kickstarter campaigns, if the team doesn't make their goal, they are not funded.
