Deadlines, deadlines -- here are a few not to be missed

November 13, 2013·Nancy Dahlberg

SIME MIA on Dec. 3 and 4 promises to be a unique event featuring dozens of big names in tech, including Caterina Fake, CEO of Findery, co-founder of Flickr and Hunch, and founding partner of Founder Collective; Navin Thukkaram, founder and former COO of Qwiki, which was sold to Yahoo! in July; and Francisco Alvarez, founder and partner of Riverwood Capital Partners. If SIME is on your wish list but the price tag is giving you pause, there’s hope: You could win two free tickets, as well as a one-on-one session with an international investor.

To apply as a Knight Foundation Entrepreneurial Fellow, make a 60 second (or less) video on why you should win and be creative. Upload it to Instagram, Facebook and/or YouTube by 11:59 p.m. Nov. 20. You must mention/tag @simemiami and @knightfdn and share it as much as possible on social media platforms using #SIMEMIA. Ten winners will be announced on Nov. 27. More info: Simemia.co.

Here are a few other deadlines entrepreneurs won’t want to miss:

Nov. 27: Deadline to apply to present at the Florida Venture Capital Conference in January in Orlando, in front of hundreds of VCs and angels. More info: http://www.flventure.org.
