eMerge Americas Techweek on Thursday announced the Techweek100, a list that honors leaders and organizations in the tech community, including innovators, executives, investors and supporters.
The list, which includes 119 men and 16 women, was chosen by the South Florida community and Team Techweek. “Techweek100 is an exclusive list that honors and celebrates key influencers in South Florida's tech ecosystem,” said Iain Shovlin, chairman of Techweek, in a letter to the honorees. Why are there 135 people on the list? The list represents 100 organizations and some of them had multiple co-founders or executives that should be included, said Xavier Gonzalez, executive director of the eMerge Americas team.
“The Miami tech scene is characterized by a unique intersection across the technology, government, finance, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship and entertainment sectors,” said Alex Siegel, director at Techweek, in the news release. “Our Techweek100 Miami honorees are reflective of the diverse, progressive, and truly amazing city they have invested themselves in.”
