#PWRfashionMIAMI, a meetup highlighting innovations powering (“PWR”) the fashion tech space in South Florida and beyond, hosted by Fashion Inspire More Inc., features Miami-based startup and fashion app Fitting Room Social to launch a monthly series engaging the local fashion and tech community in ongoing dialogue, Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 7-8:30PM, at The LAB Miami, located at 400 NW 26th Street, Miami.
Recognizing that fashion and technology have never been better suited for each other than today, #PWRfashionMIAMI provides a local forum to showcase and discuss local happenings and people in the fashion tech space. From mobile apps, social commerce platforms, to data analytics, there is no denying that the future of fashion is “powered” by technology, helping brands reach farther and consumers to connect, share, and find solutions.
Fitting Room Social, founded by Bradley Liff, was designed to solve a prevailing problem for women, finding the right size when shopping online. As shopping online becomes easier, ordering the right fit remains a challenge. Inspired by Liff’s efforts to help his wife find a fix, the recentlyPeople Style Watchfeatured app does help women do just that and so much more. In addition to Liff, the #PWRfashionMIAMI panel discussion includes Charles Irizarry, chief product architect at Rokk3r Labs, who was instrumental in the development, as well as Jamie Van Haren, an avid user of Fitting Room Social who served as a sounding board in the initial stages of the project and is representative of the many everyday women who are in constant search for fashion that fits.
“It’s an exciting time in the world of fashion and technology. What is happening impacts designers, brands, PR/marketing professionals, fans of fashion, and creates opportunities for technology developers and investors that can provide assistance. #PWRfashionMIAMI is an opportunity to talk about what’s trending and how South Florida plays a part,” said Grace M. Castro, #PWRfashionMiami host and founder of Fashion Inspires More Inc., a nonprofit that expands the fashion dialogue through art, technology, and education.
Inviting tech savvy fashion lovers, burgeoning brands, tech developers and startup investors, #PWRfashionMIAMI meetups take place on the last Thursday of each month at various locations. Entry is free with RSVP at DRESSCODEdigital.com.
