Miami-based startup Sportsmanias.com, a sports news aggregation site,  will unveil today its redesigned website, with new features aimed at enhancing the second screen experience for diehard sports fans, including a dual stream head-to-head Twitter feed from opposing teams’ beat writers.

Calling it “one of the most significant enhancements of our product to date,” Aymara Del Aguila, CEO and co-founder of Sportsmanias, said this unique dual stream functionality provides diehard fans professional play-by-play analysis on web, mobile and tablet platforms, whether they’re in the stadium or on their couch. Fans at the game get a personalized commentary on the plays via the Sportsmanias Team News app, while those who cannot be at the stadium can follow along via new tweets from both teams’ writers.

Here’s how Sportsmanias explains the changes:  The entire functionality and user experience of the site was redesigned, with shorter loading times and more intuitive navigation. In addition to the dual Twitter stream component, Sportsmanias.com now features simplified graphics and less areas of digital clutter, so users can quickly find the information they need and easily create their custom news feeds. An enriched rumors feed pulls in the latest chatter from the world of sports. An improved algorithm enables Sportsmanias to display only the most relevant content for users. The proprietary algorithm mines various data sources and pulls in the rumors, blog posts and video content that diehard sports fans crave. It provides the backbone for the core value of Sportsmanias, which is the ability for users to customize streams of sports information at unparalleled speed, as the sources are all Twitter-based, the company explained in its news release.

“As Sportsmanias continues to grow its avid fan base across the nation, we continue to innovate our platform to feed them more of the content they want, faster, and all in one place,” said Del Aguila.

Miami Herald sports has a content partnership with Sportsmanias.
