My friend Tasha Cunningham, a contributing columnist in the Miami Herald and pricipal of The Cunningham Group, offers the lowdown on using the popular photo-sharing website, Flickr, with its 51 million users.
For a small business, Flickr offers another excellent avenue to market to the masses, Tasha says. She offers these tips on using Flickr:
- Integrate your Flickr photo stream into your current website: This gives potential customers something interesting and engaging to look at when they log on to your site. It could potentially keep them browsing on your site longer.
- Share your Flickr activity on Facebook and Twitter: This is a great way to enhance your company level of engagement on social media networks, providing great visibility for you. Your photo could even go viral, creating more buzz for your brand.
- Allow others to download and share your Flickr photos: To help drive your company branding and marketing efforts, use Flickr to create an online media kit that others, including reporters and bloggers, can download with ease. Make you include high-resolution images of your company, logo, principals, products and services. Allowing others to download your photos on Flickr is a good way to leverage your exposure to potential customers.
