Sime MIA's 48-hour startup challenge: And the winners are...

November 10, 2014·Nancy Dahlberg

Sime logoRemember last week's 48-hour contest for Sime MIA ticket sales? For 48 hours, anyone could buy a $48 summit ticket for Sime MIA on Dec. 1-2 and use a promo code from one of 15 startups. The five startup drawing the most sales would win Sime passes and demo pods for exhibitiing at SIME. (If you didn't know about this opportunity, shame on you for not reading Starting Gate). So here's the rest of the story.

Ticket sale update: 190 $48 tickets were sold during last week's promotion so the startup fans will get to attend Sime MIA to support their favorite startups, made possible with the support of Refresh Miami and the Knight Foundation.

And the five Demo Pod winning startups were: Videoo, Everypost, Katana by LiveNinja, AdMobilize and Accredify.

But actually, everyone is a winner because the other 10 startups  who participated will get  All Access passes to Sime MIA (valued at $1,299). They are: Flyinstyle, Flat Out of Heels, PropelU, FiNe,  Hello Show,  Glip, Blackdove, Wyncode,  Amp.It, YellowPepper.

Like Sime's Demian Bellumio said: A win-win.  The second annual Sime MIA will feature  speakers such as Bobby Moresco, screenwriter for Crash and Million Dollar Baby, Huffington Post CEO Jimmy Maymann, Yeonmi Park, a North Korean refugee, TechCrunch editor-at-large Mike Butcher and Bernardo Hernandez of Flickr, among many others.
