Fun2Boat.com sets its course

June 01, 2014·Nancy Dahlberg

Fun2boatA South Florida boat-sharing service has hit the water.

Fun2Boat.com launched its website late last week, and is onboarding boats now. More than 300 people who want to rent boats have already signed up and about 40 boats are in the pipeline to be approved for rentals, said Morten B. Larsen, CEO and founder of Fun2Boat.com.

It’s free to list a boat on Fun2Boat.com, where boat owners can showcase their boats and yachts for others to rent. The company also provides secure payment, safety contracts and insurance of $3 million for hull and liability, said Larsen, who also runs Intellocorp.

Although there are a number of peer-to-peer boat services now available in South Florida, Larsen says his differentiator is that he will also have large chartered yachts available through a brokerage that is part of his company. Fun2Boat will also list boats for sale, and will work with potential byers on financing.

“The website makes it streamlined, so you just have to focus on the fun part,” said Larsen. “No paperwork, no transactions, we will handle all that for you. We even provide insurance for boats up to 55 feet, but we can on request provide it for any size.”
