June 01, 2012·Nancy Dahlberg

The global economy is struggling, but in Miami’s entrepreneurial ranks the outlook is far cheerier, according to a survey of 100 local start-ups by Dell Computers. Survey details will be released Monday, June 4, when Dell kicks off a tour to nine entrepreneurial cities with a Miami Think Tank to learn more about the specific needs of  local small business community. (Hint: 63 precent of Miami respondents expect this year to be better than last.)

Leading the discussion will be USA Today business columnist Rhonda Abrams, Brian Moran of the Wall Street Journal, UM Senior Vice Provost and Launch Pad co-founder Bill Green, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce President Barry Johnson and Miami Herald Business Editor Jane Wooldridge. Topics will include access to capital, access to talent and expertise, and access to technology.

The discussion runs from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday. Local businesses are invited to join virtually via live stream at http://dellthinktankmiamionline.eventbrite.com and on Twitter via #smallbizMiami.
