For five teams, a 24-hour hackathon just turned into 48.

That's because the five finalists of the first MIA Music HackDay announced Sunday afternoon will present their hacks on stage  at the MIA Music Summit at the New World Center Monday afternoon. That's where the winner will be determined. The prize: $1,000 in cash and $16,000 in services.

Thirteen teams competed in the HackDay Saturday and Sunday at The LAB Miami, presenting apps made in a day. Judges included: Cory Ondrejka of Facebook, Oscar Selma of Pandora, Mario Cruz of Choose Digital and Chris Boos or Arago.

And the finalists are (pictured above):

Lehto: An app to find regional music artists: Team: Sean Canon and Jessica Gilbert

iRemix: Make your own remix and jam out with this app. Team: Erik Mendelson, Brandon West and Mark Featherstone

Song Traction: A way to attract the music you like. Team: Yair Szarf

Tripstr: Playlists that adapt to where you are or where you are going.

Load.fm: Put your music in the cloud -- stream, store, share. Team: Jack Hernandez.

Sponsor prizes for best uses of their APIs went to Team Adam (Choose Digital); Team Nesta (3Scale) and Lehto (MusicGraph).

The finalists can use the extra day (and night) to continue working on the hacks, and even recruit a designer or  add more people to its team, as well as refine their presentations, said Demian Bellumio, COO of Senzari and organizer of the  HackDay and MIA Music Summit. Mario Cruz, CTO of Choose Digital and one of the sponsors and a judge, added that presenting at the Summit changes the game: Now they are not just presenting in front of judges and their peers without one night's sleep -- but hundreds of people under the stage lights. But the exposure could be awesome (and winning the grand prize wouldn't be bad either).
