CareerSource Broward has launched TechConnect initiative targeting the technology industry.
TechConnect is a collaborative partnership between CareerSource Broward, local tech employers, BrowardCounty educational institutions, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and technology industry associations. Designed to address the hiring needs of BrowardCounty’s tech employers, TechConnect will help create opportunities for advancement for IT workers by providing training to enhance their skills to become more competitive in the workplace. TechConnect, with its partners, will also prepare talented young adults and individuals seeking careers in technology, ultimately eliminating the need for local employers to seek talent outside of the area.
“Employers in the technology industry are in critical need of highly skilled talent, and they have not always been able to connect with them,” says Mason Jackson, CEO and President of CareerSource Broward. “TechConnect is our opportunity to better assist those employers to find or help develop quality IT professionals.”
CareerSource Broward will also offer financial assistance for on-the-job training to qualified candidates and skills upgrade training for current employees, he said.
