e-Builder, the South Florida-based provider of cloud-based construction program management software, says it is looking for the best coders in South Florida.  To entice them, e-Builder is holding a code-a-thon on June 11.

The contest is open to both professional and student programmers and will include a number of creative code challenges and programming puzzles.  Participants who answer the most problems correctly in the quickest amount of time will be crowned coding champion, including a $2,500 grand prize.

“We are looking for the best of the best in South Florida when it comes to coding and programming. Whether someone has been doing this for years or they are still in college, participation is open to all,” said Ron Antevy, CEO of e-Builder.  “Our goal is to make South Florida a technology hub and attract more top talent, and this is a great way to showcase the talent that exists locally.”

The deadline to apply is May 30.  All applicants must register at www.e-builder.net/codeathon.  Those selected to participate will be notified via email on June 2.

The code-a-thon will take place on June 11 at e-Builder Headquarters at 1800 NW 69th Ave. in Plantation’s Technology Park.  Participants will be given lunch from noon until 2 p.m., at which time the challenge starts and runs until 6 p.m.  The winner will be announced at the e-Builder Open House event June 12.  Participants must be present to win.

e-Builder recently finished a total renovation of their office space, creating a Silicon Valley feel in South Florida.  The fast-growing company, now with 100 employees, is currently looking to hire an additional 20 people.  e-Builder was recently named “Business of the Year” by the South Florida Business Journal.
