August 15, 2012·Nancy Dahlberg 08/15/2012

SenzarilogoblackbackgroundMiami-based Senzari, the global Pandora competitor, has launched a new recommendation engine called AMP3. TechCrunch says it offers a key differentiator from other streaming radio providers, as listeners using AMP3can customize their music by a number of factors, including popularity, tempo, similarity and discovery.

"We looked at solutions for recommendation of music and found that pretty much all were similar to what has been done over the last half a decade or more in music... We felt that it was an opportunity to innovate in that space,” Senzari COO Demian Bellumio told TechCrunch. Judging by the online comments and reviews, the debut was well received. Miami-based EarlyShares has recently completed its first round of Series A funding, securing more than $1.15 million, the company said. Led by co-founders Maurice Lopes and Stephen Temes, the company is now on a 24-city U.S. Educational Road Show, making stops at major tech hubs to spread the word about the benefits of equity-based crowdfunding.
