Happy Global Entrepreneurship Week, everyone. This year more than 125 countries are participating and 125,000 events are planned around the world. The week kicked off with Global Startup Battle -- Startup Weekends in 130 cities, including Orlando and Tampa.
Locally, St. Thomas University has Global Entrepreneurship Week events planned for every day this week, all free and most open to the public with an RSVP. There are panel discussions with some of South Florida’s most successful entrepreneurs, a bootcamp and a student competition. See STU's full GEW schedule here.
Putting the global in STU's Global Entrepreneurship Week is its Friday headliner event, “Unleashing Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Haiti,” keynote speech and student awards presentation. Participating in the panel discussion on entrepreneurship in Haiti and giving the keynote is Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe (pictured at left), a St. Thomas University and Barry University alumnus.
